If youve ever been out in LGBT nightlife, chances are you have noticed there are a few trending drinks floating about in the hands of most gay men. Granted, we are open to trying new things, but there exist a choice amount of staple drinks that we find most enjoyable. (By enjoyable, I really mean destructive.) Furthermore, each concoction serves quite a unique purpose, and could even mean the difference in what type of gay man you are. Normally I would refrain from generalization, but I find these trends hold true a significant amount of the time.
Below I have listed the 10 most popular alcoholic drinks ordered by gay men.

If you’re not familiar with the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, a couple shots of these will have you seeing them. Layers of melon liqueur, peach schnapps, and absinthe make for a strong Pride cocktail shot, but don’t worry.
When I came out as multi-attracted a decade ago, I anticipated encountering certain cliches upon stepping foot into my first same-sex attracted bar: the ever-present top 40 remixes of pop divas, twinks with platinum blond hair donning mesh tank tops, and an abundance of drag queens whom I should be ready to generously tip. But one unexpected phenomenon stood out: the chokehold that Vodka Sodas had over queer men.
