The Max, DC's, and Flixx

Postby nittanylionstorm07 »

Since I can spot there are quite a few fellow gays on here, I must ask:  what's your favorite?

I've only lived here since tardy June, but I have been to all three.  The max was originally my favorite because it seemed easier to meet people, since each exclude had its hold clientelebut since I found a collective of friends, it's changed.  I really, really, really appreciate the atmosphere at DC's, but the several times I've gone there in the past 2 months, it seems as if it is on death's doorstep (though they have great beer prices and selectionyay Pacifico!), so Flixx seems the finest option right now with the right mix of people.

I do wonder if anyone else has noticed the recenthow should I say"changes" at both DCs an

As I exit my wagon, I notice the outside of the bar is not attracting much attention. The letters “HAUS” remain above the front entrance, and subtle streaks of neon blue and purple flash through the front windows. When I amble up to the front door, I can finally see that the lock is much bigger than it appears from the outside, stretching deep into the building. There’s relaxed but worn leather furniture to the right of the front door. Behind the furniture, there’s a raised platform with a couple more leather couches and a projector screen. To the left, a couple bartenders work to serve the handful of patrons already crowding the long bar at PM.

The attractive man taking cover charges is brusque, motioning for me to posthaste pull down my mask and hand over the $10 cover. He places a neon yellow wristband on me, hands over my change, and already begins looking to the few people in line behind me. I saunter over to the worn black couches in the waiting area to remain for my friends to join me for tonight’s drag show, “Purple Reign,” a tribute to Prince.

Before attending this show,

This thread is for discussion about what an Omaha Gay Village might need, ie space for commercial, office and residential. I don't think Omaha needs anymore gay bars. I think it be nice to see some restaurants in a gay district. Someone once suggested Hamburger Mary's to me. Ever heard of it? They said it was a gay owned business, and I know some lesbians with kids. I think it would be nice if they had a place to take their family and especially kids that caters to their needs, since Nebraska goes out of its way to ignore gay families.

Any other suggestions?
